NURTURING CREATIVE COMMUNITY
Belong Arts Co. is a non-profit organization offering the Kitchener-Waterloo region the space to cultivate community through sharing and creating various arts-based initiatives, regardless of experience.
The organization advocates for the importance of keeping humans in the arts, and strengthening the connection between people.
The deliverables were designed for an target audience of 28-40.
All designs are tangible to share the messaging behind the organization and demonstrate how it works. The focus was to maintain the human-hand. This was done as a way to create the friendly and open tone, and also as a way to send the message of supporting keeping humans in art.
The idea behind the design of the poster was to integrate design and art. The purpose was to represent the organization through illustration, while promoting an event called Maker Hood, art-trading that would happen at Gaukel Block in Kitchener. This poster serves as an invite, a teaser, and is informative.  Locally illustrated posters are used to demonstrate community and promote human art through promotions, messages, resources, etc.
Stickers spread the word. They communicate with their audience positive messages of creativity.
Translating the poster into a postcard size serves a dual purpose of showcasing art on one side and information on the back.
These old, unused boxes above are old real estate magazine stands that are unfortunately collecting garbage.
Below is a reimagined version of these boxes that would provide the opportunity to view, share and exchange art  with your neighbourhood.
The boxes are repainted with Belong Arts Co.'s branding and colours, holding a playful flag above, and featuring locally-created art on the external panels. Inside collects community art, plus room for including promo items such as business cards.
